When thinking of all the many ways my mom exceeds her duties on a daily basis, one thing always pops into my mind. I don’t think I have ever seen my mom sit down and watch television. I’ve never come home to see my mom relaxing. Between tennis lessons, getting my siblings to and from school, and being the president of assosications, my mom is always busy. It always amazes me how my mom is always on the go, yet still find time to come home and be such an amazing mother.

My mom inspires me in so many ways, too. You see, my family is originally from South Africa, but we moved here to Carmel 10 years ago. Although my mom never gets to see her parents and sisters, she talks to them almost every weekend. I know how hard it must be on her to have such a big part of her life 10,000 miles away. She has taught me to never take family for granted, and to keep the ones you love close to your heart.

Another way my mom inspires me is through her personality. No matter how bad a day she is having, when my siblings and I get home from school, she sets aside any unhappiness and puts on a smile. Every night she makes my family a home cooked meal so that we can all reflect on our days together.

Another reason why she is awesome is because she wanted to requalify as a registered pharmacist, so she studied hard for months, and when it came to the exam last year, she aced it. She made me realize my potential in schoolwork. I mean, if she can do it, I can do it too right?

Sometimes my siblings and I joke around with our mom, saying that our lives are much more difficult than hers. But I never take her for granted. I know how hard she works. I want my mom to know that I notice the fact that she never gets any time to sit and relax, and that I appreciate it. No matter whether she wins this competition or not, on Mother’s Day, my siblings and I will make sure she gets all the relaxation she deserves. I love you mom!

-Caitlin M.

I was on your website looking at the treatment options for my wife when I came across your blog and the 2012 Super Mom Mother’s Day Contest.

I’m not much of a writer, and blogging is the last thing I’d typically be doing, but I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about my wife, Shawna. In July, Shawna and I will have been married for 5 years. For the later 2, I have had the pleasure of watching her become ‘Mommy’ to our son, Brad. The pure joy that she has in the simplest moments of the day – playing cars, singing songs, teaching him, etc. – reminds how lucky we are to call her our own. So many times we have been out to dinner or at a cousins ball game when other adults comment, “Brad is so well behaved.” I simply smile politely and nod, knowing Shawna is the reason for it.

Shawna currently works as a Lead Teacher at a Developmental Preschool. She absolutely loves working with those kids. As you can imagine, the 3 and 4 year olds keep her busy. Either on her feet or down on the children’s level, it is non stop all day long. In addition to teaching, Shawna just completed her first semester of graduate studies at Butler for a certificate to teach Special Education. Four classes and as many A’s later, she is gearing up for a summer session.

Now, one would think that working full time and going to school full time wouldn’t leave much room in the day to do anything else, but our family time hasn’t missed a beat. To ensure it isn’t affected, Shawna stays up late or goes in early, joking that she can sleep later.

On top of it all, Shawna does these things despite recently being diagnosed with some form of Sjogren’s Syndrome. Sjogren’s is a chronic autoimmune disease in which people’s white blood cells attack their moisture-producing glands. Some of the more common symptoms during a flare up include dryness of the mouth, joint pain, and fatigue. The thing is, this is just another hurdle that she copes with, not ever complaining or allowing it to limit anything we do.

Shawna has the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever met (just one of the reasons I married her). She is always putting everyone else first, and I think it’s time to give her the recognition she deserves. For that reason, Brad and I would like to nominate Shawna A. as the 2012 Super Mom.

Thank you for your consideration, and I’ll hope to hear from you soon. Happy Mother’s Day!

Sincerely,

Derek and Brad A.

Is Exilis a miracle treatment? In a word – no. As yet there is nothing on the market that delivers instantaneous, magical results that last forever. But Exilis is extremely popular, and we’re seeing great results that would impress even the strongest skeptic. With the ability to treat fatty tissue and tighten the skin with the same technology, we’re now able to offer a solution that provides results that go farther than ever before.

Here is what a guest has to say about her Exilis treatments to date:

‘I had my first Exilis treatment last week. I expected not much in results until all treatments were completed and still was skeptical. To my surprise I could definitely see the reduction and success 4 days after my first treatment!!!! Oh my gosh! This is like a miracle machine!!! I’m about 5’ tall and weigh 110lb. I’ve had this inner tube of fat around my upper thighs that no amount of dieting removed. At one point I weighed 100lb and still had that unsightly roll of fat. The Exilis removed it!!! One session!! I’m probably an exception to the rule for quick results, but I wanted the staff to have some feedback.

I think part of the success is credited to Kim’s masterful touch. When standing upright, the fat looks like it’s on the side of my upper thigh, but when lying down it moves to another location. So Kim took the time to really look at what I was seeing as unsightly bulging fat and outlined the area in marker before starting treatment. She had a definite target and she hit it straight away.

I’m so happy!! I’ve named your machine “Lexie” because she’s my new BFF!’

For men and women who feel as though there are some areas of their bodies that just do not improve with diets or exercise, or for example, one of our patient’s who “Feels as though her thighs are losing the battle with gravity’:

Exilis may just be the solution for you.

Do you:

-Eat a reasonable, balanced diet?

-Consume an adequate amount of water daily?

-Maintain a fairly consistent bodyweight?

-Exercise, or work out – including any kind of aerobic activity, yoga, weight training, tennis, swimming, or play a team sport on a fairly regular basis, but - maintain trouble spots that are resistant to exercise (such as the inner thighs and knees, lower abdomen, upper arms, neck or upper back where a bra fits)?

If you can answer ‘yes’ to those questions, you could be an ideal candidate for Exilis treatment. As much as we believe in the treatment, we also know it does have limitations – and we’ll tell you if we think you won’t benefit from treatments. Your success is also our success, and we’ll make every effort to deliver for you.

Safety, affordability, and the non-invasive nature of the treatment have been big factors for many of our patients how have decided to start treatments. We promise to make sure that our exceptional guest service is also a part of your decision.

Give us a call today; consultations are complimentary.

My submission may be a bit unique, it is to recognize the fact that a mother’s job does not end when her children graduate from high school but lasts her lifetime. As a dear friend recently said of her married daughters, “I will worry about my children always, I’m a mother.” My mother is now a senior citizen and continues to be an invaluable and loving force in her family’s lives and a true role model of strength.

Yes years ago Mother baked brownies and dozens of cupcakes when notified by an absent minded child at the last minute that they were needed for school the next morning, volunteered as a girl scout leader, worked a full-time, thankless job, tried not to be seen laughing when kittens were sneaked into the house while she was working, and made home made clothes for not only her daughter but the Barbie’s as well.

One year at Christmas when a schoolmate bragged of her new dress from a fine store, Mother bought green velvet and lace and economically made the most beautiful dress in the pageant for her daughter. Mother was truly a quiet hero so often written about today as she endured the teen angst years while simultaneously caring for her aunt with Alzheimer’s disease in our home. I am still not sure how she did it and all the while nearly always maintaining a cheerful mood. In later years when a nephew divorced, Mother went out of her way to spend time with his children, taking them on trips, to the park, and to plays providing a continued strong family connection and presence in their lives during difficult years. In recent years, Mother provided loving care and support with the needs of everyday living during her child’s cancer surgery and long recovery. As her daughter, I feel that I could never have endured through the difficult days without her. I know that this had to be even harder for her as she lost her husband to cancer nearly 20 years earlier.

Mother has been and continues to be role model for everyone including extended family and friends. She continues to regularly help others, visits and helps elderly neighbors and friends and maintains a part-time job at the local newspaper. Mother is a super mother and deserves some relaxation AND IS YEARS OVERDUE for a little mom time!!! Please consider this non-traditional submission and vote for her!!!

-Dana A.

I would like you to meet my lovely wife Carrie T., Super Mom for the past 18 years.

Carrie is a hard working (owns two businesses) family woman that is the rock that keeps are family together. Carrie is the mother of two girls, Taylor and Lilli, which she has devoted her life to care for and give them a wonderful childhood. We all are spoiled because of her. I will be the first to tell you that Carrie will go without before she would let us.

While maintaining two businesses, Carrie has always been involved with the girls schooling. She would attend field trips, have lunch at school with the girls and always is the go to person at our house for homework questions. Currently Carrie is planning Taylor’s graduation party. I’m always amazed at how she finds the time. She is the one who plans all of the family vacations, holidays, events, dinner, does all the laundry and brings in the money. She ROCKS!

The past three years has been a stressful year for our family. My youngest daughter was diagnosed with extreme migraines. This has taken a lot of my wife time taking her to doctor appointments and several emergency room visits. My job does not allow me to miss work so I’m not much of a help. Not once has she complained or has ever given up on helping to find my daughter the medical care and help to find a way to reduce or eliminate these painful migraines.

In conclusion, Carrie is a Super Mom that never does anything for herself so I would love for her to be chosen as Ology’s Super Mom 2012!

I am not sure I can sum up all the wonderful things my Mom does in an email.

Her name is Mary B. and she is not just my Mom but she is my hero. This woman has been an inspiration to me and anyone that has had the opportunity to meet her. She is warm, kind, strong, loving, and a survior. She is there whenever you need her to lend a helping hand or just to listen and tell you that you can do anything you can set your mind and heart to.

My Mom has had to fight for her life more than once. You see my Mom has been fighting cancer since she was a child. She started with thyroid cancer and then as an adult she has had to fight lung and breast cancer. But all the while taking care of those around us and making sure we were okay. Staying positive and telling us that all is okay. Now she might be facing the biggest fight of her life. Friday she was told that the cancer is now in her bones and instead of thinking of her, she is worried about who will be there to take care of my 6 six year old niece after school.

ALWAYS thinking of others. I love her more than words can say and she needs and deserves a day of relaxation.

My Mom, Laurie H., has been a single parent since I was 4 years old and I’m now 26.

My dad died when I was 13, so she’s been mom, dad, homemaker, bread-winner, gardener, chauffeur, teacher, cook and everything else for many years. She home schooled me until the 3rd grade. She took care of my sick grandmother who lived with us until her death. Mom has worked full time since I entered school in the 3rd grade, and now works for the State of Indiana. She’s a Massage Therapist and does that on the side part-time and sometimes works during the tax season doing taxes.

This year she’s had 2 car accidents where she was hit in the rear end while sitting at red lights in Noblesville. She’s had some health issues and had to have surgery last year that’s slowing her down. I think a day at your Spa relaxing would be a great tender, loving care experience for her.

My mother is the greatest woman on this Earth. She is an angel that has saved not only the life of her two children, by her self, but countless others. She has been a better mom to my friends then their own mothers.

It all started 7 years ago, my father left my mother, brother, and I in Kokomo, Indiana with nothing but 20 dollars worth of groceries. Having three mouths to feed counting her own, she couldn’t quit, and started clawing her way from a dark state that I wouldn’t pray on my worst enemy. Even with how hard she worked, if it wasn’t for God’s Glory and favor we wouldn’t of made it. If there is any woman on this Earth that deserves this spa day, it’s my mother, Thomanisa A. She has not only ,with the help of God, raised two African American boys to manhood, but she has work so hard that now we have a house, and three cars for each one of us that she can pay for easlily.

We are and continue to be blessed, but it wasn’t easy; there was many tears and many aches. So to reward her with this spa day, we would be more then greatful.

Please and Thank You,

Andrew A.

We have a 19-month old boy, Edward IV, and a 4-month old boy, Colton. She became a full-time stay-at-home mom in 2011. Her days are spent waking up early, going to bed late, occasionally waking up in the middle of the night with our youngest. All day long, she has no adult interaction and has dealt with 5-straight weeks of almost constant crying by our youngest son.

Her favorite relaxation time is attending Ology spa treatments. I work essentially 11-13 hours a day, Monday through Saturday so I am unable to give her much of a break except on occasional Sundays. She truly needs a break and I would love to see her nominated as a super mom with a trip to Ology as a reward. Our sons are in perfect health and are growing more and more intelligent by the day, due to Leslie’s incredible rearing.

Thanks for your consideration.

Edward H.

I would like to nominate Jami Lyn Smith for the Super Mom of 2012. Jami is a military wife of an active duty Warrant Officer that just returned from a year in Afghanistan. Jami’s family has grown accustomed to her husband being deployed every other year for a year at a time. This has been very difficult but necessary for the family and the country.

Jami is the mother of three teenage daughters,13, 14, and 15. Her oldest has special needs and requires constant supervision and assistance with daily activities and routines.

Two of her girls are members of the National Junior Honors Society as well as active in several extra curricular activities, all of which are possible only by the time, structure, and devotion that Jami constantly gives to her family. Jami takes the time to cater to each girl’s style and gives them haircuts, highlights, and manicures all from the comforts of her kitchen table. With the bus scheduled to arrive at 5:45am, Jami chooses to drive the girls to school in order to have additional quality time with them, prepare them for their day, and discuss any concerns that a teenager might have before starting another drama filled day at Junior High.

Being married to a Warrant Officer comes with several responsibilities as well. Jami is charged with the scheduling of meetings, activities, emergency correspondence plans, and much more for the other families in her husband’s unit. In addition, she has been trained with the CARE team to help families of fallen soldiers and be with them during their painful mourning period.

I believe that Jami should be the recipient of this award because not only is she an amazing mother, wife, friend, and leader, but she has to do all this as a single parent every other year. Many women understand the pressures of being a mother, but I doubt there are many that can understand doing it with three teenage girls all by yourself while your husband is overseas fighting for this country, his family, and his own life.
